Most “comparison” sites for payments are ranked by who pays the most for placement. We started Settled because that’s a bad way to make a financial decision. Our rankings are ordered by our ratings, and nothing else.
What we cover

How we stay independent
We take no commission, referral fee or payment from the providers we review. We’re funded by reader contributions and clearly labelled, non-targeted display placements that have no bearing on editorial. The full method is on our How We Rate page.
Who writes it
Every review is written by a member of our payments desk and edited by a second person before it publishes. We don’t use fabricated bylines, stock author photos or invented testimonials — the things that make most finance content untrustworthy.
